Chelsea 2011

I designed a trade stand , a first for me for The British Plant Nursery Guide at Chelsea Flower Show 2011. The theme was William and Kate on Honeymoon in Cornwall who had stopped off at a small cove while out in a beautiful  pale blue Morris Minor which echoed the colours of the sea.

Creating a trade stand is not easy as you have to be aware that the public need access. Also with a beach theme, it is very hard to combine planting with lots of sand! Whilst planning the stand, I went with bucket and spade and lots of bags to collect shells, seaweed and bits of driftwood from the British beaches.

Luckily the weather held and the sand was not washed away, the plants behaved and the whole scene was very nostalgic. All the plants came from British nurseries and the stand was awarded a Commendation.
