Creating a garden for an old cottage is not as easy as it may seem. With this cottage, the garden surrounds the house and a new pond was created.
The pond was sited in a corner of their land from where the owners could sit on a decked area and enjoy the wonderful views beyond. A small stream was created so that water could gently flow under a rustic hand made bridge.
In the front of the property , meandering beds , a greenhouse and small seat area added to the cottage effect. Soft planting was used and by adding a few twists to some formal planting, the overall effect was one of peace and calm.
